We invite musicologists and researchers from the humanities and social sciences to participate with papers in the following categories: IMS Study Groups (SG), ARLAC Working Groups (GT), Thematic Tables (MT), Papers (CO), Launch of Books, Journals, Recordings or Documentary Films (LL), and Internal Affairs Meetings (RI) for SGs, GTs, and IMS and ARLAC committees. The conference theme is open, welcoming a variety of current proposals for studies on music, culture, and society in Latin America and the Caribbean, from diverse disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives. Proposals must be original and focus on issues relevant to the scope of the event. The conference languages are Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
Each person may only participate in the congress up to two times, regardless of the modality, except for launches and internal affairs meetings. The deadline for submitting proposals in all modalities (SG, GT, MT, CO, LL and RI) is January 15, 2026. Proposals must be submitted exclusively via the email address: 7congresoarlac@gmail.com. Each proposal must be sent in MS Word or a compatible file format. The file must be named with the following elements: the acronym of the modality, the author’s main surname, and two words from the proposal title (e.g., MT-Surname-MusicBrazil.doc).
