XXXII ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE SOCIETÀ ITALIANA DI MUSICOLOGIA

The thirty-second Annual Conference of the SIdM will be held in Turin from October 24 to 26, 2025, and will be organized in collaboration with the University of Turin and the Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” of Torino.

During the conference, the annual general meeting of the members will take place. The annual conference of the SIdM represents an important opportunity for scientific exchange and interaction among scholars. As in previous years, the SIdM is pleased to extend the participation opportunities by offering members the possibility of presenting, in addition to the usual papers, also posters related to ongoing projects.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Scholars interested in presenting a paper are invited to submit proposals on any area of musicological research. The proposal must include:

• Title of the paper;
• An abstract in doc/docx format, no longer than 30 lines, summarizing the content of the paper, the research objectives, and the contribution of the paper to the advancement of knowledge.

Additionally, the following documents must be attached:

• A brief curriculum vitae (maximum of 15 lines);
• A list of any technical equipment required for the presentation;
• Contact information (email, phone, postal address).

The paper should have a maximum duration of 20 minutes, corresponding to
approximately 14,000 characters.

Priority will be given to proposals from scholars who did not participate in the previous SIdM conference.

POSTERS

Presenting a poster provides scholars with the opportunity to share ongoing research projects with the scientific community and discuss their content, methodologies, and objectives in a more informal and direct interaction with attendees. Proposals for poster presentations must include the same information as the paper proposals (title, abstract, CV, and contact information).

If the proposal is accepted, scholars will need to print the poster independently
(maximum size: 70×100 cm) and bring it to the conference, where it will be displayed in a designated area for the entire duration of the event.

Paper and poster proposals must be sent by email to segreteria@sidm.it by June 15, 2025. Acceptance notifications will be sent by July 20, 2025.

Each scholar may submit only one proposal (either a paper or a poster).
